Scope of Application

These terms describe the general framework for our services and the use of our website. The details of each assessment are defined in the quote and contract provided to the client.

The terms specific to the engagement identify, among other things, the building concerned, included components, any exclusions and expected deliverables. Nothing on this page is intended to remove rights granted under applicable legislation.

03

Services Offered

Depending on your project and the agreed scope of work, you may request the following services:

Specialized analyses, tests, sampling or services provided by additional professionals are included only when expressly specified in the contract.

04

Service Requests and Booking

A request submitted through a form, by phone or by email allows you to communicate your needs. Submitting the booking form does not automatically confirm a visit date.

We check availability, the property’s characteristics and your project constraints before communicating the proposed arrangements.

Your booking is confirmed once the terms of the engagement have been accepted and confirmation has been sent to you. Any change to the service or appointment must be agreed upon with INSPEXION.

05

Pricing and Payment Terms

The price is determined according to the service type, the building’s characteristics, location and the scope of the assessment.

Before you commit, the quote specifies the amount payable, applicable taxes, any additional fees and payment terms.

Any additional service that may change the price is disclosed and agreed upon in advance. The terms of any deposit are specified in the contract.

06

Preparation and Property Access

The client provides information useful for preparing the assessment and arranges the permissions required to access the building.

  • Provide the exact address and known characteristics of the property.
  • Specify deadlines related to the transaction or building handover.
  • Disclose known issues and provide useful available documents.
  • Facilitate safe access to the areas and components covered by the agreed scope.
  • Inform INSPEXION of any specific constraints before the appointment.

Inaccessible areas, equipment that is out of service or unsafe conditions may limit the visit. These restrictions are noted in the report and may require an additional assessment to be agreed upon.

07

Inspection Scope and Limitations

Unless a specific scope of work is agreed upon, the inspection is based on a visual examination of the building’s accessible components at the time of the visit. The observations take into account the conditions encountered on site.

A visual inspection cannot examine all concealed, inaccessible or underground components. It does not guarantee that the property is free of defects or predict its future condition.

Dismantling, destructive openings, laboratory analyses and specialized technical studies are not part of the service unless expressly agreed upon.

When the observations warrant it, the report may recommend further assessment by a qualified professional. An inspection does not replace a professional act reserved for another profession.

08

Inspection Report and Follow-Up

The deliverables, their format and delivery timeframe are specified in the contract. When a report is included, it presents the observations made, limitations encountered and recommendations related to the agreed scope of work.

The client is encouraged to read the report in its entirety and request clarification on any points they wish to better understand. Recommendations for further assessment should be taken into account before making the relevant decisions.

The report relates to the property, date and scope of work specified. Sharing it with a third party does not automatically create a new engagement with INSPEXION. Its terms of use are specified in the contract.

09

Rescheduling, Cancellation and Interruption

To request rescheduling or cancellation, contact INSPEXION as soon as possible. A new date may be proposed depending on availability.

Applicable financial terms, including the handling of any deposit or potential fees, are communicated before you commit and remain subject to statutory rights.

If conditions on site make the assessment unsafe or impossible, the inspector may interrupt the visit. INSPEXION will then explain the reasons and agree with the client on possible next steps.

When INSPEXION needs to reschedule, the client is informed as soon as possible so that an appropriate solution can be agreed upon.

10

Liability, Questions and Remedies

INSPEXION carries out the engagement with the required care and diligence, within the scope of the agreed services and applicable obligations.

If you believe that an aspect of the service or report requires review, contact us and specify the property concerned, the assessment date and the nature of your request.

We can review the information provided and determine the appropriate next steps. This process does not limit your legal remedies.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or deprives the client of mandatory protections. Québec law and applicable Canadian laws govern services provided in Québec.
